Description: AGNAS or Aviation Ground Navigation System is an ongoing research and development project focused on advanced automation technologies and systems integration. The objective of this program is to develop, integrate and deploy technologies that ultimately will allow a semi-autonomous, unmanned vehicle to dock with and tow aircraft from the point of passenger boarding to the departure runway without having to start the aircraft engines. Immediate impact to airport operations include: reduced cost, reduced emissions, enhanced safety, security, and efficient operation of airfield ground vehicles and equipment.
